Job Overview
Citi's Global Money Markets Business distributes commercial paper for investment grade issuers, institutional certificates of deposit for highly-rated banks and asset-backed commercial paper for conduit funding vehicles. Our issuing and investing clients have significant overlap with Citi’s core Corporate Banking client base. Citi is one of the largest dealers in the global commercial paper market which consists of U.S. commercial paper and Euro commercial paper.
The origination function within Global Money Markets is responsible for:
Identifying potential business opportunities by working with Banking, Capital Markets and directly with clients
Pitching new business opportunities
Working directly with clients, legal counsel (internal and external) and compliance (internal) functions to negotiate and document new commercial paper programs
Reviewing and executing amendments for existing commercial paper programs
Developing relationships with existing and potential new issuers, providing them with information and market knowledge
Supporting the trading desk by responding to internal and external requests for information
Coordinating with Corporate Banking on client coverage and relationship matters
The Analyst role is deeply involved in all aspects of commercial paper program origination and works across our global sales and trading teams to ensure our clients can efficiently fund themselves in the short-term markets.
Qualifications:
One or two years of experience working in financial services
Self-motivated; demonstrated high levels of energy, engagement and integrity
Proven success working with a team and learning in a team-oriented environment
Ability to facilitate and execute multiple responsibilities in a timely manner with high attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage and analyze large data sets
Significant experience with Microsoft Office products; working knowledge of VBA / Excel macros is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic understanding of, and strong interest in financial markets, including money markets, is preferred
BS/BA degree
Series 7, 79 and 63 preferred
