Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our growing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and preparing proposals for large-scale heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects across commercial sectors. Your expertise will drive project success by providing precise budgets, competitive pricing, and thorough project evaluations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex construction projects, ensuring efficient cost control and seamless project execution from inception to completion.
Duties
- Blueprint & Spec Analysis: Review architectural and mechanical drawings to understand the scope and scale of complex HVAC projects.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Utilize industry software (e.g., QuoteSoft) to precisely measure and count ductwork, piping, diffusers, and major equipment (chillers, boilers, RTUs).
- Cost Evaluation: Estimate direct labor, material prices, subcontractor quotes, and equipment costs
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with local equipment manufacturers, distributors, and sales engineers to secure competitive, timely pricing
- Change Orders & Budgets: Assist project managers with calculating costs for post-bid changes and monitor project profitability
Experience
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical construction, HVAC design, and commercial building codes (e.g., ASHRAE, Title 24, California Mechanical Code).
- Software Proficiency: High competency in Microsoft Excel, and specialized digital takeoff/estimating programs.
- Excellent written and verbal skills & strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation metrics
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
