Family of Caring at Teaneck is seeking a Food Services Director to lead the dietary department within the facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily food service operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing staff, and ensuring residents receive high-quality meals and nutritional services. The ideal candidate understands the skilled nursing environment and can balance resident satisfaction, department efficiency, and survey readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all dietary and food service operations within the facility
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and sanitation regulations
- Manage kitchen staff schedules, performance, and daily workflow
- Monitor food quality, meal service, and resident satisfaction
- Maintain inventory, ordering, and department cost controls
- Collaborate with Nursing and the Registered Dietitian to meet residents' nutritional needs
- Support survey readiness and respond to dietary-related compliance matters
Qualifications
- Prior Food Services Director experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
- Strong knowledge of dietary regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety practices
- Experience managing kitchen staff and department operations
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred but not required
