POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Clinical and Family Support Programs is accountable for the development, implementation, and leadership of all services offered by the Agency in the program areas.
Additionally, the DCFSP serves as a critical member of the executive management team. In collaboration with the CEO, CFO and CDO will articulate and implement the strategic vision, evaluate the effectiveness of programs to provide ongoing feedback; help to promote and diversify funding via effective resource stewardship with a healthy mix of government funding and private philanthropic support; raise the agency’s profile through external communications; provide mentoring, guidance, supervision, and professional development to all management staff; and enhance the structure of the organization by staying abreast of developments in behavioral health, child welfare, family/parenting services and social enterprise opportunities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- In coordination with the C-suite level executive team, play a key role in the overall development, strategic planning, service delivery and management of the organization across multiple sites and departments.
- Develops program budgets including implementing expense containment measures as well as overseeing the development of revenue generating income activities.
- Develops, implements and approves new or revised policies, standards and procedures, monitors policies and procedures for compliance and quality with internal and external standards.
- Provides assistance and guidance on how to troubleshoot program challenges.
- Mentors Associate Directors and other applicable program staff on how to proactively engage in planning to improve program management.
- Represents the Agency as an ambassador in specific service communities
- Deploys resources efficiently and effectively toward organizational goals, working with staff to balance workload and effort, and provide regular feedback so that key staff can continuously improve their supervision and mentoring skills.
- Develops and foster relationships with non-profit and public sector partners including state and local governments
- Adheres to any clinical requirements set forth by accreditation bodies, Core/Medicaid requirements, etc.
- Leads the program in becoming a national mental health and resiliency thought leader, identifies and approves all clinical/program models, evidenced based assessments, validation of tools, conference presentations, etc.
- Approves trainings, conferences, program expenditures submitted by the program manager and/or other staff.
- Creates and support a high performing culture in the program department aligned with Families First’s core values. Develop a team-based environment to motivate and inspire staff to work collaboratively toward vision and goal, by clearly communicating agency vision, implementing yearly staff development plans and mentoring.
- Provides leadership, direction, and oversight in the implementation of adult and children behavioral health services; as well as Navigator and other family support services.
- Directly supervises and directs the work of the program managers and indirectly counselors; assists program manager with interviewing, hiring, evaluating, program staff.
- Establishes annual program, departmental and staff goals and objectives and track results against these goals as well as accountability protocols.
- Supports fund development efforts through the promotion and execution of Families First’s fundraising events, proposal writing and partnering with the CEO/CDO to steward funding relationships.
- Coordinates with the CEO/CDO on developing new program ideas and pilot projects, including integrating successful pilots into the program department.
- Ensures compliance will all grant, contract and regulatory requirements
- Serves as an active member of the Program’s Committee of the Board of Directors
- Handles day-to-day operations
- Makes all key program operations and fiscal decisions in the absence of the CEO
- Grows programs that focus on strategic plan and direction of the Agency and develop plans that fit into the overall Agency plan
- Monitors and evaluate staff performance in relation to accomplishment of goals and objectives outlined by the strategic plan
- Serves as liaison to key government agencies, as well as cultivates relationships with key community partners.
- Serve as a member of the Agency’s Social Work Practice Consultation Team
- Participates in any Agency after hours phone, event, meeting rotation(s)
WORKING CONDITIONS

Hybrid work schedule based on agency and program needs.
- Flexible work hours, including occasional evenings or weekends to support agency events, community meetings, or program needs.
- Local travel required to agency sites, community partners, and funding meetings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other applicable Human Service, Business degree
- Clinical licensure by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapists preferred
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in social service supervision and administration
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with community groups, councils, and collaborations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level demonstration of program operations including program start-up, business functions, corrective action, compliance, marketing, and expansion.
