Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs or disabilities.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, learning, social skills, and creativity.
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to safety protocols, conducting regular environment checks, and maintaining a clean and hazard-free space.
- Support children's emotional well-being through positive reinforcement, behavior management strategies, and compassionate communication.
- Follow mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child safety or well-being.
- Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary to address minor injuries or emergencies promptly.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, or guardians' representatives to communicate progress, concerns, or updates about each child's development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying, or youth programs.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Introduction to the Childcare Profession*
- Fundamentals of Infant & Toddler Care*
- Certification in CPR and First Aid from an accredited organization (preferred).
- Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities or special needs.
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect.
- Demonstrated classroom experience or daycare experience is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families and team members professionally.
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on individual child needs and developmental stages.
