Quality Final Inspector – 3rd Shift Overview
Polymer Molding, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Final Inspector to join our Quality Control team on 3rd shift, Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.
In this role, you will inspect molded plastic parts to ensure they meet customer specifications, dimensional tolerances, and PMI quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, experience using precision measuring equipment, and the ability to identify and communicate quality concerns in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect molded plastic parts for visual defects and dimensional accuracy
- Perform first-shot, in-process, last-shot, and other required inspections
- Verify correct part identification, material, color, and cavity utilization
- Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks
- Read and interpret blueprints, inspection standards, and customer specifications
- Perform dimensional, functional, cavity-count, and cycle checks
- Identify nonconforming material and notify the appropriate supervisor
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Assist with production quality issues and corrective actions, including 8D responses when needed
- Support prototype and first-run inspections as directed by Quality leadership
- Work closely with production and Quality personnel to maintain product quality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Quality assurance or manufacturing inspection experience preferred
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Basic math and computer skills
- Knowledge of injection molding processes preferred
- Knowledge of applicable automotive and quality standards preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality concerns
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and production employees
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as needed
