American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN with neurocritical care experience for a 13-week night shift contract requiring a WI or compact RN license and at least 4 years of ICU experience.

Work in a Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with 933 beds
-
Assigned to the Critical Care: ICU Neurology unit with 27 beds and an average daily census of 25
-
Care for neurocritical patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, spinal surgeries, and brain mass resections/biopsies
-
Also cover non-neuro ICU overflow including medical respiratory and general medical ICU patients
-
Patient ratios of 1:1-2, or 1:3 for mixed acuity assignments
-
12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700) with a 36-hour work week
-
Schedule follows a 6-week cycle with every other weekend and every other holiday required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating required to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, CVICU), medical-surgical units, sitter duty, or PACU surge
-
EPIC EMR experience required
-
Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE monitors, and Medtronic EVDs
-
Active WI or compact RN license required
-
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
-
Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required
-
Minimum 12 months of core experience in the specialty area within the last year required
-
Experience with vents, trachs, arterial lines, vasopressor and sedation management, and central line blood draws required

CVVH/CRRT and EVD experience preferred
-
EPIC EMR experience required
-
At least one professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required
-
Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Provide direct care to critically ill neurological and overflow ICU patients in a high-acuity environment
-
Supported by a care team including CNAs (1:8-10 ratio), Charge RN, Critical Care NPs, Intensivists, Hospitalists, Respiratory Therapy, and Phlebotomy

Unit culture emphasizes strong teamwork and evidence-based nursing practice
-
Orientation includes facility-wide NEO and one shift of unit-specific orientation
-
Scrubs must be a solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs
-

Facility fatigue policy limits staff, including travelers, to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts

RTO requests of up to 7 days may be approved by the interviewing team
