Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a classroom of students, providing a safe and nurturing environment
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents and caregivers
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to discuss student progress and address any concerns in a positive manner
Experience:
- Previous experience working with students with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs preferred
- Knowledge of best practices in special education and inclusive classroom settings
- Strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students with diverse needs
