Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Door Technician (Commercial) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial doors, frames, and hardware across various construction and remodeling sites. Your expertise will ensure that all door systems function smoothly, meet safety standards, and enhance building security and aesthetics. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial door systems and hardware
- Service automatic doors, storefront doors, hollow metal doors, and frames
- Install and adjust door closers, hinges, panic bars, locks, and access hardware
- Diagnose and troubleshoot door and hardware issues
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes
- Read and interpret work orders and basic drawings
- Maintain tools, materials, and a clean work area
- Communicate with supervisors and customers regarding repairs and project status
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years experience working with commercial doors and hardware
- Strong knowledge of door installation, adjustment, and repair
- Experience with automatic door operators and access hardware preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with storefront and aluminum door systems
- Automatic door certification (AAADM)
- Experience with access control hardware
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
