Overview of the Position
A great opportunity is available with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Applications are being accepted for a Term Law Clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Sally J. Berens in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Position available November 2026. Appointment is for one year with possibility to extend to a second year with approval of the judge. Position may be eligible for limited telework after period of establishment and/or training is completed. The Law Clerk will perform research and writing tasks assigned by the Judicial Officer. Substantive work will also include review and analysis; preparation of draft documents for judge’s review, editing and approval; research to assist in preparing opinions, and other duties as assigned.
