We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. This essential role involves ensuring the proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and medical equipment to support safe and effective patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, contributing to a high standard of clinical safety and efficiency.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparation and assembling of medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation and equipment, maintaining the sterile processing areas and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment. Orders supplies for the area. The Sterile processing technician performs the appropriate testing of all sterilizers and keeps accurate records.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Instrument technician experience, 1 years with CSPDT or CRCST certification
REQUIRED LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:
CSPDT or CRCST
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of standard precautions, aseptic technique and principles of sterilization and instrument handling.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Additional languages preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Participates in opportunities of continuing education.
Demonstrates the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, coworkers, and other health team members.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
