To assist in maintaining the essential functions of the school system by providing support to sustain efficient, clean, and safe environments.

Performance Responsibilities
Offices - perform office essential functions
Teacher’s Lounge and Work Area
Vacuum carpet daily.
Empty trash can daily.
Dusts all furniture daily.
Cleans the microwave oven as needed.
Scrubs and disinfect sink daily.
Thoroughly cleans restrooms daily.
Scrubs, scours and disinfects sinks.
Scrubs, scours and disinfects commodes.
Sweeps, mops, and disinfects the floor.
Ensures that soap, tissue, and paper towels are available.
Student Restrooms
Sweeps, mops, and disinfects floors daily.
Empty trash cans daily.
Scours and disinfects sink daily.
Scours and disinfects commodes daily. NO rust or water ring shall exist.
Cleans all stalls and walls of any markings as needed.
Cleans mirrors daily.
Ensures that toilet tissue and paper towels are available.
Ensures that traps shall remain free of odor at all times.
All School Entrances
Halls
Dust mops and/or vacuums daily.
Cleans walls and lockers of markings as needed.
Picks up trash daily.
Thoroughly cleans baseboard tile each day.
Water Fountains
Classrooms
Make sure to empty the waste can. (Places trash in dumpsters outside buildings).
Remove all paper on the desk or on the floor.
Check under air-conditioning/heating units for paper and remove.
Removes any trash or paper on shelves or in cabinets.
Make sure that floors are swept or mopped. It will be necessary to move the furniture as you clean. Give special attention to hard to get to areas such as corners.
Using a wet cloth, makes sure that the chalk troughs are properly cleaned. Also make sure to wipe and clean shelves and window sills.
Properly stores all custodial equipment and supplies in a proper storage room.
Secure the school building before leaving.
Locks all windows.
Locks all doors.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Board.

Ability to pass a written and physical test.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Physical Requirements

The employee will continuously use hand strength to grasp tools and climb onto ladders.
Will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing duties of this job.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, such as cleaning supplies, pails, and unloading trucks.
Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 pounds, such as bulk furniture.
The employee will sometimes push or pull tables, bleachers, scrubbing machines.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
