COMPENSATION: $24.00 - $30.00 hourly, DOE
WORKDAYS: Full time, coordinated with a 7 days/week operation

POSITION SUMMARY: The Lift Maintenance Mechanic at Sunlight Mountain Resort is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing ski lifts to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the lifts. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and the ability to perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs in a variety of weather conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on ski lifts to ensure safe operation.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical lift components.
- Conduct inspections and testing of lifts in compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Respond to lift malfunctions and breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the Lift Operations team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Document all maintenance and repairs, maintaining detailed logs and records.
- Assist in major lift overhauls, including the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of components.
- Participate in training and safety meetings to stay current on industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, industry standards, and local/state regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in lift maintenance or a similar field.
- Familiarity with lift systems and components, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of safety practices related to lift maintenance and operation.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and at high elevations.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and reporting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to extreme weather conditions, including snow, wind, and cold temperatures.
- Regularly working at heights, including on lift towers and platforms.
- Requires working early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Full mobility and physical fitness to handle the demands of the job.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for managing tools, equipment, and materials to avoid unnecessary waste or damage.
- May assist in budgeting for lift maintenance supplies and parts.
