JOB SUMMARY
Provide balanced meals daily to residents according to the scheduled meal service hours as determined by the Executive Chef.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Executive Chef to operate a clean and organized kitchen
- Maintain the dry storage closet, walk-in refrigerator and freezer for easy location of food items in an organized fashion as set up by the Executive Chef
- Assist in the storing of delivered food items as directed by the Executive Chef
- Operating the kitchen according to the budget guidelines
- Communicate with the Executive Chef regarding the operation of the kitchen at all times, indicating any staffing, resident, or health concerns
- Assist in the cleaning of the kitchen as directed by the Executive Chef
- Label all food with food description and date when storing
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
- May be required to work additional hours as dictated by workload and staffing
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 years of age
- Previous kitchen experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of cooking procedures
- Ability to do repetitive work without limitations or restrictions
- Must have fundamental understanding of sanitation and food handling safety
- Food handler’s card will be required within 30 days of start
- Must be able to speak English and follow verbal instructions in English
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to bend, squat, stoop, climb, kneel, and stand on feet for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
