Baker – Part-Time | Sanitary Market (Laurens, SC)
Sanitary Market is a specialty local grocery and prepared foods market in Laurens, SC, part of the family-owned Culbertson Kitchen. We're looking for an experienced, professional baker to join our team on a part-time basis.
About the Role:
You'll be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods for our market case and prepared foods program — daily sourdough, pastries, and daily specials that reflect our commitment to quality and local sourcing. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their craft and wants to be part of a growing, community-focused business.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake breads, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods from scratch on a consistent schedule
- Maintain recipe consistency and high quality standards
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and place orders as needed
- Keep the bakery area clean, organized, and up to code
- Collaborate with kitchen and market staff on seasonal items and specials
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Qualifications:
- Professional baking experience required (bakery, restaurant, or similar setting)
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices
- Ability to work independently and manage time in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in quality work
- Early morning availability preferred
Schedule: Part-time or Full-time
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
