Responsibilities
- Stock shelves efficiently by organizing products, ensuring accurate placement, and maintaining attractive displays
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately during retail transactions
- Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist customers with product questions, provide product demos when applicable, and promote upselling opportunities to increase sales
- Maintain a clean, organized store environment by merchandising products and managing inventory levels
- Support supervising staff during busy periods, including supervising stockroom activities and ensuring safety protocols are followed
Skills
- Previous experience with POS systems and retail sales transactions is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual settings to serve diverse customers effectively
- Proven ability to handle cash register operations, retail math, and cash drawer handling accurately
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to engage customers through friendly interaction and product knowledge
- Experience in stocking, merchandising, and product demos within grocery or retail environments preferred
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and grocery store operations enhances performance
- Excellent phone etiquette, basic math skills, and the ability to upsell products confidently are essential for success in this role
