Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in restaurant or food service environments, demonstrating a passion for meal preparation and a commitment to high-quality food production. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that meals are prepared efficiently and meet the dietary needs of our clients. Must have expierience in a diner setting cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Assist in menu planning and development, considering seasonal ingredients and client preferences.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to the management.
- Participate in training sessions for new kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
- Experience as a Dietary Aide or within a Dietary Department is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
