Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Warehouse Sorter (Part-Time) to join our logistics team. This role is essential for maintaining efficient warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory management, and supporting order fulfillment processes. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience, familiarity with heavy equipment operation, and a strong commitment to safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse distribution, inventory control, and materials handling within a dynamic environment. Hours 3:30am-7:30am Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
- Sort and organize incoming and outgoing inventory items accurately and efficiently
- Operate warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, pallet jacks, order pickers, and forklifts following OSHA safety guidelines
- Assist with stock stocking, order picking & packing, shipping & receiving activities
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order fulfillment
- Load and unload materials using heavy equipment including cranes and mechanical tools
- Maintain proper inventory control through regular cycle counts and documentation using AS400 or similar systems
- Support warehouse management in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize distribution processes and ensure timely order fulfillment
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., AS400), RF scanners, and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and order pickers safely following OSHA standards
- Mechanical knowledge related to packaging, load & unload procedures, and materials handling equipment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and order accuracy
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Prior experience with warehouse supervision or managing warehouse operations is a plus
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety regulations
