Picture your day starting on the manufacturing floor, checking in with operators and the Site Manager you report to, then moving between assembly cells, the CAD station, and vendor calls. As the Manufacturing Process Engineer for assembly systems, you balance hands-on production support with structured engineering to keep product lines running smoothly from development through release and maturity.
- Create and maintain production documentation that keeps work moving efficiently: formal work instructions, assembly sheets, setup sheets, MPPs, and engineering memos.
- Evaluate, specify, and help implement new equipment to meet operations’ capacity, quality, and safety requirements.
- Protect product integrity through disciplined process control and continuous improvement.
- Track and improve key company and department metrics tied to quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Provide rapid guidance and remove roadblocks for manufacturing and assembly teams—often via email or other established channels.
- Join weekly technical discussions with customers to review design and manufacturing changes and pursue improvements.
- Visit vendors to assess emerging equipment and technology.
- Travel to customer sites to explore NPI opportunities and align on manufacturability.
- Collaborate with senior manufacturing team members for direction on complex assembly operations while also working independently as needed.
- Support every phase of the product lifecycle: development, production release, and mature, well-established products.
- Flex your schedule when required, periodically working additional hours to meet program goals and demand surges.
- BS in Engineering preferred; or 5+ years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Background in machining with direct exposure to complex assemblies.
- Hands-on familiarity with technical design, CAD tools, or direct CNC machining experience (plus).
- Alternatively, a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant technical experience.
