Job Title: Store Cashier
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, honest, and customer-focused Gas Station Store Cashier to join our team. The cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately handling cash and credit card transactions, stocking merchandise, maintaining a clean and organized store, and helping ensure the safe and efficient operation of the convenience store.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Accurately process cash, credit/debit card, and other payment transactions.
- Balance cash drawer and complete shift reports.
- Assist customers with purchases, fuel transactions, lottery tickets (where applicable), tobacco products, and other store items.
- Verify identification for age-restricted purchases in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Restock shelves, coolers, and displays to ensure products are available and organized.
- Monitor inventory and report low-stock items to management.
- Keep the sales floor, restrooms, coffee station, and other customer areas clean and stocked.
- Prepare coffee, fountain drinks, and food service items (if applicable) following food safety guidelines.
- Monitor fuel pumps and respond to customer issues or emergencies.
- Follow all company policies regarding cash handling, theft prevention, and safety.
- Report suspicious activity, equipment problems, or maintenance issues to management.
- Perform opening, closing, and shift change procedures.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking merchandise.
- Work independently during slower shifts while maintaining store appearance and productivity.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Honest, dependable, and punctual.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
