American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position at a Level I Trauma hospital in West Virginia, requiring strong ortho experience including total joint replacements.

Acute care Med/Surg Orthopedics unit (7NE) in a Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital
-
22-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6 RN-to-patient
-
Patient population includes orthopedic cases such as joint replacements, fractures, and related diagnoses
-
Telemetry monitoring is present on the unit; RNs are not required to read strips
-
Charting via Epic (experience required)
-
3 CNAs per shift provide nursing aide support
-
12-hour night shifts
-
Every other weekend required, or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
-
Travelers are expected to participate in the holiday rotation
-
Floating may be required to units 7E, 7W, 10W, or 10E
-
13-week assignment

Active WV RN license or compact RN license (willing to wait for licensure)

Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Strong orthopedic nursing experience required, with total joint replacement experience (not fractures alone)

Epic EMR experience required

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate

Valid driver's license required for consideration

Royal blue scrubs required

1–2 shift orientation provided on the unit

COVID vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions may be requested via the appropriate exemption form

Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying
-
Candidates may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year before taking a 2-year break

Charge Nurse coverage is available 24/7 on the unit
