The primary purpose of this role is to manage and enter all patient charges related to Perioperative Services. Key duties include reviewing patient procedures and ensuring accurate charge entry into the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Candidate will work collaboratively with medical coders, billing specialists, clinical staff, and external vendors to clarify information and resolve any discrepancies. Accuracy and efficiency are essential for supporting timely reimbursements and maintaining the facility’s financial health.
Additional responsibilities may involve assisting with audits and regulatory compliance, requiring strong attention to detail and awareness of processes.
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience in Epic

Preferred Licensure or other certifications:
Preferred Educational Requirements: Associates Degree.
Preferred Experience: OR experience, Knowledge of Workday, Medical Terminology.

Coordinates and is accountable for Surgical Services Patient charges.
1A Responsible for entering all procedural charges into EHR System to ensure accuracy and that all patients are charged accordingly.
1BProcesses all Perioperative department charges within 3 days
1CProcess Vendors requisitions to ensure patient is charged and company is paid.
1DPerforms daily charge audits by surgical procedure for accuracy and makes changes when necessary.
1EMonitor charge reconciliation reports to identify and correct missing or delayed charges by reconciling patient accounts with source documents and charge master systems.
1FMaintain precise records of charge capture activities.
1GAssist with charge corrections as needed according to chart and charge audits.
1HEnsures all patients have been charged for service.
1IIdentify trends in charge errors or omissions and provide feedback to department leaders for process improvement
1J Performs assigned duties with minimal supervision
Facilitates communication and collaborates with other NGHS resource units, physicians, clinicians, and billing teams to clarify and resolve discrepancies.
Facilitates communication with outside vendors to ensure that requisitions are submitted in a timely manner.
Promotes effective working relationship with physicians, off site facilities and NGHS staff
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Makes judgments and takes reasonable action required to accomplish project objectives with minimal direct supervision.
Contributes and is responsible for Perioperative Charge Capture for productivity and financial outcomes
Complies statistical, referral, and departmental activity as requested.
Provide training and support for staff involved in charge entry and reconciliation to ensure proper understanding and accuracy in charge capture procedures.
Assist in compiling department statistics bi-weekly and monthly.
Performs follow-up with resource units to obtain any incomplete charges.
