Position Overview:
Zimmerman Metals Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Professional to lead and manage our safety programs. The Safety Professional will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and developing strategies to minimize risk and prevent workplace injuries. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures that comply with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientations, refresher courses, and specific training as needed.
- Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure the company complies with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and first aid readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and audits, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Work closely with Human Resources, supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in manufacturing or metal fabrication.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), or similar certifications preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various hazards, including noise, moving machinery, and chemicals.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
- May require occasional travel to local job sites.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
