Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and engaging part-time caregiver(s) to work with a charming, funny, and quiet guy on the autism spectrum.
Apply for one or both shifts: We are looking to hire someone to work with him one afternoon/evening during the week either each Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday from 3pm until 9-10pm and/or either Saturday or Sunday for 6-7 hours--start/end times are negotiable.
This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing personalized support tailored to his unique needs. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and committed to fostering a safe, respectful environment while assisting with daily activities and HAVING FUN!
Duties
- Weekday shifts begin by picking this man up at his art studio and walking home with him (you can leave your car at his home, and walk to pick him up--he lives 0.4 miles from the studio) . Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation/cleanup, and leisure time.
- Weekend shifts require someone to support him with a few chores (he loves to vaccum), and an outing/activity. He likes to do a wide range of things (take walks, visit museums, grab a bite to eat, go onpicnics, ride the ferry.....the sky is the limit!)
- Communicate effectively with his Live-In Attendant who has been with him for 20+ years
- Provide patient-centered care that respects individual preferences, routines, and sensory sensitivities
- Skills
- Prior experience supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities is highly desirable.
