Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder Fabricator/Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and installing metal components across various construction and fabrication projects. Your expertise will ensure that all work meets safety standards, technical specifications, and quality expectations. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project requirements.
- Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
- Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, bending, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials utilizing plasma cutters, press brake machines, power tools, and machining equipment.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to assemble structures or components on-site or in the shop environment.
- Install fabricated assemblies on construction sites or designated locations following blueprint specifications and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times during fabrication and installation processes.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication issues or installation challenges efficiently.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes.
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding in diverse environments.
- Familiarity with interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints for accurate fabrication and installation.
- Experience operating machinery such as plasma cutters, press brakes, machining tools, and soldering equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding, fabrication shops, and construction sites is essential.
- Ability to use measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements.
- Mechanical knowledge of ductwork assembly, sheet metal fabrication, metal materials handling, and ASME standards compliance is highly desirable.
