GentleHands Home Care is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Part-Time On-Call Caregiver to provide high-quality, non-medical home care services to seniors and individuals who need assistance with daily living.
This position is based in Vacaville, California, with caregiving opportunities available in Vacaville and surrounding cities throughout Solano County, including Fairfield, Suisun City, Dixon, Vallejo, Benicia, and nearby communities.
The Part-Time On-Call Caregiver position is ideal for caregivers who want flexible work opportunities and are available to accept shifts based on client needs and agency scheduling. Our caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, independent, and supported in their own homes while maintaining dignity and respect.
Part-Time On-Call Caregiver Position
This is an on-call, part-time position. Caregivers may be contacted when additional coverage is needed due to new clients, open shifts, schedule changes, or other staffing needs.
The ideal candidate should be dependable, responsive, flexible, and willing to accept available caregiving assignments in Vacaville and surrounding Solano County communities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Active Home Care Aide (HCA) ID or PER ID listed on the California Home Care Aide Registry
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Current automobile insurance suitable for transporting clients when required
- Negative TB test completed within the last 90 days
- Ability to safely lift, transfer, or assist clients weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to provide compassionate and dependable non-medical home care
- Reliable transportation to client homes
- Ability to work independently while following care plans and agency policies
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, as some clients may prefer Spanish-speaking caregivers
Caregiver Responsibilities
As a Part-Time On-Call Caregiver with GentleHands Home Care, responsibilities may include:
- Assisting clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transferring, and feeding
- Helping clients with mobility and activities of daily living
- Encouraging independence while maintaining client safety
- Preparing meals and supporting proper nutrition and hydration
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Performing light housekeeping and laundry
- Providing medication reminders according to agency policies and the client's care plan
- Assisting with safe transfers and mobility
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
- Completing accurate daily care notes and required documentation
- Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition or behavior
- Following infection-control procedures and safety guidelines
- Following emergency procedures and agency policies
- Communicating with the care coordination team regarding client needs
- Providing respectful, reliable, and person-centered care
