About the Role
We're looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team and help ensure the highest standards in food safety, product quality, and sanitation are maintained on the production floor. In this role, you'll perform regular inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies. Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operational inspections
- Document quality checks and report any deviations
- Monitor GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitary conditions
- Verify labels, weights, temperatures, and metal detection systems
- Conduct basic sensory evaluations
- Support and conduct validation studies for FSMA compliance
- Participate as a member of the HACCP/Food Safety Plan team
- Enter quality and performance data into spreadsheets
- Audit departments and chemical concentrations
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure high-quality output
- Other QA-related duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in food production or quality assurance
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Skills:
- Detail-oriented and observant
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in cold, wet, or hot environments
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Bilingual a plus, but not required
- Prior HACCP or environmental monitoring experience preferred
Work Environment
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and chemical cleaning agents
- Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and good vision requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required
- Hairnet, beard net (if applicable), gloves, smock, and safety footwear (OSHA-compliant)
