Position Summary:
The Director of Association Management & Community Engagement works closely with the SVP, Government Affairs to help lead integrated stakeholder engagement, outreach, campaign management and association management strategies for a portfolio of energy-sector clients and consumer advocacy organizations. This role operates at the intersection of public policy, regulatory constructs, and consumer sentiment—translating complex regulatory, infrastructure, and market issues into clear, persuasive narratives tailored to policymakers, regulators, media, and energy consumers—both families and businesses.
The Director is expected to function as both a strategic advisor and execution lead, supporting clients across the full spectrum of energy issues including electric power markets, clean energy, natural gas infrastructure, electric transmission development, carbon capture, and emerging energy demand growth.
The Director will be responsible for assisting in crafting strategies and supporting day to day operations for several associations/coalitions, as well as communication with local elected officials, industry stakeholders and the general public.
Key Responsibilities
Association/Coalition Management
· Coordinate activities for industry coalitions, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, documenting action items, and tracking follow-up activities.
· Support coalition-building efforts by fostering engagement among stakeholders.
· Assist in developing and implementing strategies to strengthen partnerships and expand organizational influence.
· Maintain stakeholder databases and ensure timely communication with coalition members.
· Track coalition priorities, initiatives, and deliverables to ensure alignment with objectives.
· Interface with Boards of Directors, as needed.
· Director will work closely with Executive Directors for various industry Associations/Coalitions.
Marketing & Brand Management
· Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote events, programs, membership opportunities, and organizational initiatives.
· Create compelling content for campaigns, newsletters, social media, and website updates.
· Maintain brand consistency across all marketing and communications materials.
· Design and coordinate promotional materials including digital graphics, presentations, event signage, and sponsorship packages.
· Analyze marketing metrics and recommend strategies to improve engagement and reach.
Communications & Member Engagement
· Draft and distribute organizational communications, including announcements, press releases, event recaps, and member updates.
· Manage content calendars and oversee social media presence across multiple platforms.
· Support leadership with speechwriting, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
· Assist in developing educational messaging that supports the organization's mission.
· Maintain membership communications and help execute initiatives that enhance member recruitment, retention, and engagement.
Event Planning & Execution
· Coordinate and execute a portfolio of networking events, educational programs, conferences, leadership forums, and member engagement activities.
· Manage event logistics including venue selection, registration, vendor coordination, catering, audiovisual needs, speaker management, and attendee communications.
· Develop event timelines, run-of-show documents, and project plans.
· Coordinate sponsorship fulfillment and maintain positive relationships with sponsors.
· Support on-site event management, including setup, registration, speaker coordination, and post-event evaluation.
· Track attendance, event metrics, and participant feedback to improve future programming.
Administrative & Organizational Support
· Maintain event budgets and track expenses.
· Manage registration systems, databases, and CRM platforms.
· Prepare reports on event performance, marketing effectiveness, and membership engagement.
· Support organizational initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Team Leadership & Business Development
· Manage and mentor junior communications staff and external vendors.
· Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal development (RFPs/RFIs), client pitches, and thought leadership.
· Identify emerging policy and market trends impacting client communications strategies.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
