Child Care Aide
The Child Care Aide plays an essential support role in assisting with the daily operations of our child care facility. This position is ideal for a compassionate, dependable individual who is passionate about working with children and contributing to a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment. Under the guidance of the Director and lead teachers, the Child Care Aide helps carry out educational activities, ensures the well-being of children, and supports classroom management.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers and staff with daily classroom routines, activities, and supervision.
- Support the implementation of age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for children.
- Help monitor children’s behavior and report any concerns to the lead staff or Director.
- Assist in meal preparation, snack distribution, and cleanup.
- Support children with personal care routines as needed (e.g., handwashing, toileting).
- Foster positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Participate in center events and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Ensure adherence to all child care safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework or training in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in a structured setting is preferred.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in child development.
- Ability to follow directions, communicate effectively, and work well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional demeanor in a child-focused environment.
