STERLING FLOOR DESIGNS
Commack, NY
Driver / Warehouse Associate
Ready to be part of a team that keeps Long Island moving? Sterling Floor Designs—a woman-owned, family-operated industry leader for over 45 years—is looking for a reliable, hardworking Driver/Warehouse Associate to join our Commack operation.
If you take pride in doing things right, show up ready to work, and want to be part of a crew that genuinely has your back—this is your seat at the table. And if your work ethic was forged in the military, we especially want to hear from you.
The Sterling Edge
- Real Work, Real Impact: You’re not just moving boxes—you’re the backbone of every project we deliver. What you do in the warehouse directly fuels the job sites across Long Island and NYC.
- Grow With Us: Starting pay increases upon successful completion of safety and other certifications—because we invest in people who invest in themselves.
- Veterans Welcome: Your military discipline, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure are exactly what Sterling is built on. We actively seek candidates with a military background.
What You’ll Do
- Load & Ship Ready: Box, palletize, and wrap product so every order leaves the dock right the first time.
- Material Handling: Operate pallet jacks, stack product, and unload containers—keeping the warehouse floor safe and organized.
- Accurate Counts: Keep precise inventory records because details matter and our customers depend on them.
- Drive with Purpose: Operate box trucks, vans, flatbeds, and forklifts as needed. CDL not required, but your license must be clean—no exceptions.
- Keep It Moving: Support other warehouse and operational needs as they arise. No job is too small when you’re part of a team.
What You Bring
- A Clean License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. CDL not required.
- Warehouse Instincts: Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, box trucks, vans, or flatbeds is a plus—but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn will take you far here.
- Physical Readiness: This is a hands-on role. Ability to stack, lift, wrap, and move product safely is a must.
- Attention to Detail: Whether it’s a count, a label, or a pallet wrap, you do it right.
- A Team-First Attitude: You show up, you follow through, and you make the people around you better.
- Bonus Points: Knowledge of flooring products or experience operating a cutting machine is a welcome plus.
The Perks
- Compensation: $17.00–$21.00/hour depending on skill and experience—with a pay review and increase upon successful completion of safety and other certifications.
- Health Benefits: Medical insurance provided after the probationary period (employee co-pay applies). Optional dental plan available.
- Time Off: 6 paid holidays plus safe/sick time and PTO upon eligibility.
- Financial Future: Profit Sharing eligibility and 401(k) enrollment available after the eligibility period.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Consistent hours. No surprises.
- Start Date: This position is available immediately for the right candidate.
