American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a Long Term Care (LTC) position in Seward, Alaska, requiring previous travel experience and an active AK RN license in hand.

Long Term Care (LTC) facility with 40 staffed beds
-
Patient ratio of 1:20
-
4x12-hour shifts, variable Days or Nights (7:00–19:30 or 19:00–7:30) — shift assignment is based on facility needs at time of start; travelers are not typically asked to rotate between day and night shifts

Traveler's choice of 13- or 26-week contract length

Floating within scope to other facilities within the state is required

No on-call requirements

Active Alaska (AK) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of LTC nursing experience required

Previous travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered

Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance (including rental car coverage) required to operate the facility-provided vehicle

Must provide at least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Candidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must also meet the 50-mile radius requirement

All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO will not be approved if requested after an offer is extended or a contract is signed

For a 26-week contract, no more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered

Traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); willingness to work all holidays is preferred

All travelers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification, which is completed during on-site orientation — a one-time $10 fee applies

The facility arranges a vehicle for traveler use around town (within a 30-mile radius); vehicle is available starting no earlier than 72 hours before contract start and must be returned within 24 hours of contract end

The vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas; only the traveler is authorized to operate it
