Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and maintain patient demographic and medical information in the EMR
- Schedule patient appointments within the EMR system
- Manage and maintain patient health information
- Collect patient and clinic data from various sources as needed
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the clinic team
- Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information in accordance with HIPAA
- Provide patient education to help set appropriate expectations
- Contribute to overall team success by assisting with related tasks as needed
- Answer incoming phone calls and manage text message communication with patients and providers
- Collect patient payments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience using an EMR/EHR system
- Proficiency with computers and Windows-based applications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- 1-2 year of experience in an office setting using telephone and computer systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and time management abilities
- Ability to problem-solve in routine and standardized situations
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This position is based in a typical medical office environment and requires working full-time daytime hours. Duties involve sitting at a computer, frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and mouse use, and occasional standing or walking. The role may require lifting and moving equipment or supplies up to 15 pounds.

With a strong background in office experience and administrative tasks, the ideal candidate will excel in managing a multi-line phone system and ensuring efficient patient flow. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, and Eaglesoft, along with a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology, are essential for success in this position. The Medical Receptionist Front Desk will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, customer service, and time management abilities while maintaining accurate medical records and upholding confidentiality standards.
