Full-time Instructor in Physical Chemistry
Coe College invites applications for a full-time Instructor in Physical Chemistry, beginning January 2027. We seek a teacher‑scholar who is passionate about undergraduate education and high‑impact teaching practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Chemistry (thermodynamics, kinetics, and/or quantum chemistry) along with the associated laboratory
- Teach General Chemistry with laboratory or an additional course or laboratory aligned with the candidate’s area of expertise/interest
- Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and departmental service
- Hold regular office hours and be responsive to student email questions
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a closely related field (ABD considered with evidence of timely completion)
- Demonstrated excellence—or clear potential—for effective, student‑centered undergraduate teaching
- Ability to teach physical chemistry and general chemistry with associated laboratories
