DIRECT SERVICES – DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDER (DSP)
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time
BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:
The Direct Service Provider will be responsible for interacting with program participants, providing an engaging curricular experience, ensuring a safe environment, and supporting social and community support activities to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSP’s are responsible to and reports to the Program Innovation Leader and the Director of Programs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Actively engage with participants in daily activities that follow a person-centered approach and support the participant’s individual program goals.
2. Assist the Program Innovation Leader with planning daily activities and calendars.
3. Ability to follow directions, calendars and daily schedules to ensure an active program.
4. Encourage participants to join activities while promoting individual choice and decision-making opportunities.
5. Complete documentation including but not limited to: daily logs, incident reports, and attendance logs, outing forms and transportation logs.
6. Promote community integration by ensuring participants have full access to the community through outings, field trips, and attending special events.
7. Ensures the safety and well-being of all program participants at all times by following organizational policies, procedures, actively monitoring environments, having consistent headcounts and responding promptly to any concerns or incidents.
8. Ensure compliance with all Licensing, CARF, Regional Center and The Arc policies and procedures.
9. Ensure environments meet health and safety requirements by maintaining clean and orderly environment at all times. Report any health and safety concerns to supervisors.
10. Attend departmental staff meetings and trainings.
11. Follow all program and organizational duties and procedures in an ethical and professional manner.
12. Perform additional tasks and duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
General:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must pass a fingerprint and criminal background check.
· Hold a current California driver’s license, able to drive a passenger van and have a clean driving record.
· Can lift a minimum of 45lbs.
· Strong communication and teambuilding skills.
· Willingness to learn and be flexible to changing State and program requirements.
· Able to be patient and work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a respectful and professional manner.
· Strong computer skills and able to navigate programs for data entry and recording
· Organizational skills with attention to detail.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Must have a high school diploma or GED.
· Able to successfully complete organizational provided Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training.
· Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English. Bilingual preferred.
· Minimum 6 months of experience working with children, adults and/or seniors with or without developmental disabilities.
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:
· Monday – Friday 7:45am – 4:15pm. Part Time hours to be provided based on program needs.
· 403B available with employer 4% provided after employee puts in 6%.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
