About the Role
We are a patient-centered outpatient physical therapy clinic seeking a compassionate, motivated, and licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. This position is ideal for a PTA with an interest or experience in vestibular rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, geriatrics, and orthopedics. Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions for patients with orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and balance disorders.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising PT.
- Accurately document treatments, patient response, and progress in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and fall prevention strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to provide exceptional patient-centered care.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service in all patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, state practice regulations, and payer documentation requirements.
Qualifications
- Current Tennessee Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain before employment).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
- Interest or experience in vestibular rehabilitation.
- Experience treating patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, or balance disorders.
- Experience working with geriatric and orthopedic populations.
- Certification or continuing education in vestibular rehabilitation, balance training, or neurologic rehabilitation is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation systems/Prompt.
