The Role & Your Impact
We are seeking one (1) Unarmed Security Screener to support a high-volume entertainment venue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This role is ideal for professionals who understand that effective security begins at the point of entry and relies on clear communication, consistency, and a calm, professional presence. Screeners play a critical role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and policy-compliant environment for all guests.
Success in this role requires professionalism, situational awareness, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain focused during high-volume operations.
Core Responsibilities
Guest Screening & Access Control (Primary Function)
- Verify guest age and ensure compliance with venue age-restricted policies
- Conduct visual and bag screenings to prevent unauthorized items from entering the facility
- Enforce venue policies regarding outside food, beverages, and prohibited items
- Maintain a professional and courteous presence while managing high guest volume
- Identify and appropriately respond to potential risks, safety concerns, and policy violations
- Communicate clearly with guests, teammates, and venue staff to support efficient entry operations
- Document and report incidents, denied entries, and security concerns in accordance with company standards
Safety & Environmental Awareness
- Monitor entry areas for crowding, hazards, and escalating behavior
- Support de-escalation efforts through calm communication and situational awareness
- Uphold SIG 9 Global's standards of professionalism, integrity, and guest-focused service
Qualifications & Professional
Requirements Required
- Valid Florida Class D Security License
- Minimum three (3) years of licensed security experience
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to write clear and accurate reports
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening
- Must pass criminal and role-relevant background screening
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the United States with valid documentation
Preferred
- Experience in access control, guest services, or security screening
- Experience working in entertainment, hospitality, nightlife, or other high-volume customer environments

Compensation
- $18.00 per hour
- All training paid at the full hourly rate
- Minimum of eight (8) paid hours of onboarding and site-specific training

Available Work Schedule
This position requires consistent weekend availability and late-night operations.
- Friday: 5:30 PM – 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 10:30 AM – 1:00 AM
- Sunday: 10:30 AM – 11:15 PM
- Off: Monday through Thursday
This schedule supports peak guest-traffic periods and requires strong reliability, situational awareness, and teamwork.
Attendance & Scheduling Expectations
To ensure operational consistency and effective team integration, time off during the initial 90-day period is limited.
