Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Status: Full Time
Pay Rate: $26.00 per Hour
Schedule: 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday to Friday
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction, is responsible for maintaining, repairing and performing preventative maintenance services on all equipment and structures at Agency owned buildings and leased properties.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: Five years of experience in building operations in a maintenance capacity.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):
- Extensive knowledge of building trades,
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical equipment related to HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner
- Must be available or emergency repairs and shared weekend and evening on call responsibilities
- Ability to visually detect maintenance problems
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Must be proficient with basic tools used in the maintenance field
- Good organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and meet Agency driving standards
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Agility-Material Handling
- Lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Lift or move items more than 50lbs typically with assistance.
- Pushing and/or pulling of at least 50lbs F to move items. Pushing/pulling more than 50lbs F with assistance.
- Must demonstrate sufficient capacity to lift, carry, push and pull.
- Must have excellent balance to maintain equilibrium in all positions
Working Conditions: May be exposed to bad weather, noise, heat, and other conditions directly related to this type of job. Ability to lift materials weighing up to fifty pounds.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans and schedules alterations and repairs on all facilities.
Performs minor repairs to plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems.
Performs general carpentry tasks as required.
Performs general painting tasks as required.
Removes and installs major appliances.
Performs preventive maintenance functions on Agency facilities and equipment.
Perform emergency repairs as they arise.
Inspects and otherwise exercises control over repairs and alteration work performed by outside vendors.
Serves as liaison to contractors.
Performs snow removal and salting as required to all concrete and paved services.
Procures materials to complete repairs as needed.
Analyzes maintenance issues and develops a solution to complete needed repair.
Keeps records and makes oral and written reports of department activities.
Keep maintenance equipment clean, safe, and in operable condition.
Keeps Agency vehicle in a neat and safe condition.
