The Safety Specialist assists clients in the development, implementation, and training of OSHA required facility safety programs. This position requires a firm understanding OSHA 1910 regulations.
Responsibilities
Support development and implementation of site specific safety policies and procedures for clients.
Provide onsite training and training programs for client’s personnel.
Manage contractor pre-qualification programs and tracking systems for clients.
Develop and maintain partnerships with client’s operational staff and facility EHS professionals to ensure that project execution and safety plans are in compliance with facility plans.
Provide assistance and guidance on incident investigation techniques for clients.
Develop facility specific Emergency Response Plans for clients.
Maintain database of best practices, recent OSHA citations, and changes to regulatory programs.
Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree in safety or related field preferred. Minimum three years of directly related experience. Experience in developing and performing field audits. Safety Professional Certification desired – CSA, CSM, or related certification. This position does require up to 25 – 50% travel. Candidate must have ability to manage multiple projects involving consultants or cross organizational teams.
