Coordinates and performs a variety of administrative, fiscal, planning, and staff support activities. Serves as primary point of operational and administrative contact for internal and external constituencies, often on complex and confidential issues. Provides complex administrative assistance in the areas of program/project planning, research and analysis and special project support by compiling statistics and information; analyzing data, preparing reports and making appropriate recommendations. May serve on a variety of committees in a support capacity. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong customer service skills. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree preferably in Office Administration, Business Administration or a related field.
- Three (3) years of administrative experience.
- Related work experience maybe substituted for education requirement. One (1) year of related work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a high school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent and five (5) years of related work experience can be eligible to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Office Administration, Business Administration or a related field
- Administrative office experience in a University setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on a wide range of issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to effectively work on a team and practice inclusion with all organizational levels.
- Ability to effectively utilize an electronic medical record system.
- Ability to collaborate collegially with a multidisciplinary staff, both within the Counseling Center and throughout the CSU community.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
