- Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner including theory and clinical instruction
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Guarantees safe and sanitary practices by both students and instructors when practicing cosmetology and related sciences
- Ensures client satisfaction by effectively managing clinic floor, counseling and guiding students, and assisting in resolving students issues
Works closely with Instructor/Director to assist with overseeing daily operations and activities
Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
Coordinates and administers reporting of student's hours and student projects
Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintains regular office hours
Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Serves on college or department committees as needed
Attends professional development opportunities when possible and attends meetings and conferences as assigned by administration
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
Contacts students when class is canceled or postponed
Locates a substitute instructor for requested time off
