Job Description:
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Washington Casino Area is looking for a responsible candidate to oversee the maintenance of this hotel facility. The candidate should be able to develop, implement, and manage programs for the operation and conduct maintenance of all equipment, physical structures and landscaping in compliance with corporate and brand standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the short and long-term planning and day-to-day operations of the engineering department.
- Recommend the budget for the Engineering Department, capital expenditures and manage expenses within the approved budget.
- Supervise the daily operation in maintaining the maintenance/sanitation of the guest rooms, public areas, pool area and health club.
- Develop, recommend, implement and manage the hotels and department’s capital budget expenditure plan and objectives consistent with maintaining a first class hotel property.
- Develop, implement and direct all Emergency Programs; ensure all equipment is maintained, conduct inspections and drills, ensure compliance with all codes and regulations, train all employees and maintain accurate records to ensure a safe environment which protects the asset, guests and staff.
- Develop, implement and manage energy programs to maximize efficiency and minimize expenses.
- Coordinate all renovation and PIP programs for the hotel.
- Communicate with the General Manager on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel to attend brand and corporate training, meetings and other events as deemed necessary.
- Perform special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned. Participate in hotel task forces and committees as requested.
Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary education and degree preferred.
- Three years of hands-on experience at a hotel or comparable location and industry.
- Extensive experience in the management of people and the analysis and resolution of complex issues and problems.
- Ability to make decisions with the use of company policies and procedures as the sole resource.
- Advanced supervisory and management skills.
- Advanced communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence other hotel professionals or hotel guests.
