<Job Summary>
Southwest Impreglon is hiring an experienced OD Cylindrical Grinder Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for precision grinding of coated and uncoated components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
<Duties>
- Set up and operate OD (outer diameter) cylindrical grinders to achieve precise dimensions (±.0002” preferred) and surface finishes on metal parts.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and machining instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to optimize grinding performance.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect parts for conformance to specifications.
- Document production data, inspection results, and machine adjustments accurately for quality control records.
- Collaborate with team members on tooling selection, fixture setup, and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper handling of tools and materials.
<Requirements>
- Proven experience operating OD cylindrical grinders or similar grinding machinery in a manufacturing setting. 3+ years
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other quality inspection instruments.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
- Experience with hand tools, tooling management, crane operation, and sheet metal handling is preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
