Teksync Technologies is looking for a high-energy, experienced Lead Low Voltage Cabling Technician to join our team. Must be flexible, have a great attitude, and have great customer service skills. This is a field service job that requires driving to customer sites in your own vehicle completing new installs and resolving customer issues. Most sites are within a 40 mile radius of downtown. You must have experience leading on commercial projects and you must be willing to work nights and weekends.
Required Skills & Experience (Please Read Carefully)
- Experience training, coaching, and mentoring less experienced technicians
- Must have demonstrable leadership experience on major commercial projects
- Low Voltage Cabling installation, termination, and testing (e.g., copper, fiber, coax)
- Must know how to perform site telephone audits and cross-connects
- Proficient with butt set, tone and probe, punch down, and crimp tool. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- T1/PRI/DEMARC wiring extensions and circuit turn-ups
- Installation of Network Equipment (e.g., routers, switches, wireless access points)
- Diagnosis and repair of cabling, call quality, and CO dial tone issues on digital, analog, and VoIP phone service.
- Experience installing a 66 block with a 25 pair cable
- Experience installing patch panels and cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, j-hooks, d-rings)
- Experience dressing and routing of cables into telecommunications closets, modular furniture, and other work area outlets
- Experience installing A/V equipment, IP Cameras, and Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Experience conducting site surveys
Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to drive to multiple client locations daily
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and be able to work proficiently unsupervised.
- Certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI, Systimax, Belden, OSHA)
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, work in ceilings, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a drug and criminal background check
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license
