The Electrical Superintendent – Commercial Division is responsible for overseeing all field operations for multiple commercial electrical projects. This role provides leadership to foremen and field crews, ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget, and maintains consistent quality standards across all commercial jobsites. The Superintendent serves as the primary field authority for the commercial electrical division.
Oversee multiple commercial electrical projects simultaneously
Direct and support foremen, electricians, and field supervisors
Develop manpower plans, work schedules, and labor forecasts
Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and productivity targets
Review project drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
Provide constructability input during pre-construction and job kickoff
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance across all jobsites
Conduct jobsite audits, safety walks, and quality inspections
Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and other trades
Resolve field conflicts, labor issues, and production challenges
Oversee material logistics, staging, and procurement coordination
Support inspections, testing, and project close-out
Mentor and develop foremen and future field leaders
Maintain accurate field reporting and documentation
Journeyman Electrician license (where required by jurisdiction)
10+ years of commercial electrical construction experience
3+ years in a superintendent or senior foreman leadership role
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and NEC requirements
Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schedules
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
OSHA-30 certification
Experience with healthcare, high-rise, or large commercial projects
Experience using project management or field-tracking software
Experience managing union and/or merit shop crews
Strong leadership and team-building abilities
Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
Safety-driven and quality-focused mindset
Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
Ability to make decisions under pressure
Financial and labor-management awareness
This role requires regular travel between active commercial construction sites and extended time in the field. The position involves exposure to construction environments, outdoor conditions, and physical jobsite activity.
