Busy Neurosurgical and Spine clinic is looking for a MRI Technologist to support Outpatient Imaging Services.

General Statement of Duties: The MRI Technologist operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Supervision: Reports to Director of Imaging
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an out-patient clinic environment. Work involves frequent contact with patients and other clinical staff. Work may involve dealing with distressed patients. Physical effort requires full range of body motion. All of the following are essential job functions.
· Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stretch, and reach to gain access to all areas needed to perform required functions of the job without restrictions.
· Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects, including assisting in the lifting of patients with a gait belt.
· Heavy lifting required: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to stand and walk or sit for prolonged periods of time.
· Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and operate basic office equipment, such as computer and telephone.
· Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability to communicate with patients, co-workers, and providers.
· Must have adequate visual acuity to read and interpret written material.
· Must be able to maintain composure under the stress of emergency situations, frequent interruptions, and heavy workload demands.
Job Duties:
· Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts
· Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
· Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
· Assist radiologist with procedure performance
· Perform Radiological procedures when not performing MRI Duties
· Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
· Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions as needed
· Charge MR procedures and supplies in PACS &/or EHR system.
· Maintain accurate patient records
· Provide orientation for new technologists
· Provide education and training for student technologists, as requested
· Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for MR procedures
· Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
· Assist with education and training of staff
· Assist radiologists in developing new protocols and MR imaging techniques
· Understand and use the PACS system
· Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein
Qualifications/Experience:
· Graduate of 24-month AMA approved School of Radiology Technology
· 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality
· ARRT certification in Radiology
· ARRT certification in MR technology
· BLS certification
