Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and plating to ensure consistency and presentation quality
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, slicers, and knives
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and service timing
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to uphold safety standards in all aspects of food production
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or dietary departments is highly desirable
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams
- Experience with food handling, meal preparation, catering, or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining cleanliness standards in busy settings
