Substitute Teacher – PreK-3
Sprouts Preschool Program
Sprouts PreK-3 is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Substitute Teacher to join our early childhood team. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children.
Key Responsibilities
● Assume full responsibility for the classroom during the lead teacher’s extended absence
●Implement lesson plans and curriculum in alignment with program guidelines
●Collaborate closely with the assistant teacher to foster a positive environment
●Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive space that supports the classroom
●Utilize the Tools of the Mind curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices
●Maintain consistent classroom routines, expectations, and behavior management
●Monitor student progress and communicate updates to administration and support staff
●Use positive guidance techniques to promote social-emotional development
●Maintain accurate documentation and required records
●Communicate professionally with families, colleagues, and service providers
●Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required activities
●Adhere to all center policies, licensing standards, and district requirements
Qualifications
●Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred)
●Valid New Jersey PreK–3 Certification or Substitute Credential
●Experience working with preschool-aged children (preferred)
●Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
●Ability to implement established curriculum and follow classroom procedures
●Flexibility and adaptability to maintain continuity of instruction
●Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and collaboration
●Proficiency with technology for documentation and communication

Salary: $ 35,000- $ 40,000.
