The Assistant Director of NC State University’s Office of Parents and Families Services provides strategic leadership and oversight to enhance the experience of parents and families of enrolled students. This role manages key initiatives and critical program resources and serves as a steward of all communication efforts for the Office of Parents and Families Services.
The Assistant Director will support planning and execution efforts for all unit events, including but not limited to Parents and Families Weekend, Spring Fling, and First Generation Family engagement programming as well as all virtual events. The Assistant Director will represent Parents and Families Services at stakeholder programming through tabling and presentations at events, including but not limited to annual events such as University Open House, Experience NC State, New Student/Family Orientation, and University Commencement.
The position involves administrative duties, direct service to parents, families, and students, and supervision and training responsibilities. The Assistant Director assists in developing, revising, and maintaining communications, outreach, and programs. They supervise the Parent Ally student leadership team and exemplify the program’s mission and values.
As a member of the Administrative Team alongside the Executive Director and Associate Director, this staff member provides reports and data as needed and participates in institutional committees, professional organizations, and continuing education opportunities as they arise. All members of the Administrative Team are expected to support the mission of the unit, division, and university.
