We are looking for a Technician that has experience in the majority of the following areas:
- Obtaining and conveying accurate medical history.
- Maintaining accurate medical records for all patients using Idexx Cornerstone.
- Assisting our Veterinarians in all aspects of animal care, for example; routine medical procedures, vaccination preparation and administration, restraint, medication fulfillment, and providing comfort to animals before and after procedures.
- Performing Venipuncture (jugular/femoral/cephalic/saphenous)
- Collecting and Analyzing laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal samples.
- Placing catheters.
- Preparing animals for surgery and monitor vital signs throughout the procedure.
- Educating clients on proper animal care and provide guidance on nutrition, behavior, and other health-related issues.
- Conducting Client Communication in the form of Callbacks regarding Lab Work, Sick Visit Follow Up, etc.
- Performing primary care tasks such as ear cleanings, bathing, anal gland expression, toe nail trims, etc.
- Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of the veterinary facility and equipment.
A qualified candidate should also have:
- a High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years with direct technician experience.
- Experience working with small animals, in a veterinary setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- the desire to continue learning and growing professionally.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology.
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including alternating Saturdays (8am-1pm only).
