About Meyhouse
Meyhouse is a modern Turkish fine-dining restaurant group known for elevated cuisine, warm hospitality, and vibrant energy. Our culinary program is built on live charcoal grilling, high-quality ingredients, and disciplined execution. We are opening our newest location in San Ramon and are seeking a strong Sous Chef to help lead kitchen operations, uphold standards, and mentor our culinary team.
Position Summary
As the Sous Chef at Meyhouse, you are a key leader in the kitchen and the direct support to the Executive Chef. You are responsible for day-to-day kitchen execution, line leadership, training, and quality control. You set the tone for professionalism, consistency, and teamwork, ensuring every plate meets Meyhouse standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations and service execution
- Lead and supervise line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen staff during service
- Ensure consistent execution of recipes, portioning, and presentation
- Oversee station setup, breakdown, and readiness for service
- Maintain quality control for all dishes leaving the kitchen
- Train, coach, and mentor kitchen team members
- Assist with scheduling, ordering, and inventory control
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards
- Step in on any station as needed to support service flow
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 4–6 years of professional kitchen experience, including 2+ years in a Sous Chef or kitchen leadership role
- Strong experience in high-volume, quality-driven restaurants
- Solid understanding of grill, sauté, cold station, and prep operations
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
Availability Requirements
- Open availability is required
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Leadership team members are expected to work scheduled shifts as business needs require
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
